things i liked
- everything about this graphic novel was just so lovely. it was so sweet and tender and just like a big hug - it defiantly reminded me of The Magic Fish!!!
- the characters had so much depth to them and it was all portrayed so effectively through the artwork
- i loved the character designs, especially in terms of the diversity and the different body types!! something we definitely need more of in graphic novels
- the authenticity of the characters was great, their actions and speech patterns and the texting patterns all felt v. believable
- the romance <3 awwwwww
- the setting was so perfectly done, it just felt so beautiful and real and reminded me of summer so much
- THE MUM!!!! amazing, iconic, what a slay. she was so funny and so sweet and just the perfect example of how supportive parents should be written
things i was meh on
- some of the supporting characters had a slight blur to them in my mind, even the main "villain" (but she wasn't really a villain) had kind of a blurry motivation to me. there was a sense she was going through a lot which was her motivation for her actions but it just didn't really compel me.
- the ebook format was kind of hard to read through so i might cave and buy a physical copy as well!
things i didn't like
- the main character's brother, he just...ugh, no thank you.
- this should have been longerrrrrrrr - i just wanted more happiness
