Just bought this on a whim because I haven't been practicing my Japanese lately and I wanted to give it a try. I read it with my five-year-old niece who can't keep still for more than five seconds, but had fun listening to me read as slow as she does then repeating the words after me. I surprised myself by being able to read the Japanese part of the book without help though there was a page that I couldn't find how to read at all. Nonetheless I shall keep looking and come back to it.

The book is very simple and cute, the artwork is pretty fun and the story tells the kids about perspective.
