LOVED this followup to Amal Unbound and, in some ways, I enjoyed it more. I think it was the education setting - with its systemic injustice that seems to be a worldwide issue - that drew me in. But I also loved the development of Omar, who goes from doubtful to "stubbornly optimistic" in such a realistic way. The other boys at the academy are beautifully drawn out too, especially Aiden. So much to love about this book and so much kids will want to think about, talk about, as they learn how ways to fight that systemic injustice that's pervaded our schools.
