I felt there was some great character development, and I enjoyed the story pacing.

There is a very sizable cast with some new characters [ cue more aliens ]. Like in Skyward, the distinctive characters were introduced in a manner that it wasn't overwhelming or a chore to know each character in the sizeable cast.

The events of going through the motions of extensive pilot training and battles were still important aspects of how Starsight was told, though not as much as it was in Skyward. This installment of the series focuses on getting to know the 'eyes', the Krell, and more.

Like in Skyward, there were a handsome number of answers were given in Starsight. Aspects of the story are being set in place for the rest of the series, in which I am sure even more answers will be given to questions that I have and questions I do not yet have.

The conclusion of Starsight gave more answers and left the story open for the next installment, Cytonic.

Overall, Starsight was very well written and worked really well for me. I enjoyed my reading experience. I can't wait to dive into the next installment, Cytonic.
