The Lightning Thief: Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Starting the first book of a series definitely wasn't my plan as far as “easing into” reading, however! I found someone on YouTube who read it well enough for me to stay engaged and so I was off. Because I listened to the audiobook this was a really fast read as it genuinely flew by for me! I never realized how enjoyable it is to listen to a good book while doing other things. The actual story itself is consistently funny and witty thanks to Percy being a great narrator/POV. The pacing was wonderful and I quickly came to love all the characters we were introduced to. I initially didn't think that I would review the rest of this series but I quickly learned that I had too much to say about the other books as well. I completely understand why so many people have fallen in love with this series and find comfort in it. I will definitely reread this at some point in the future to relive the fun!
