This was a slow-burn enjoyment book for me.

𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱, 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀.

First of all, I was very frustrated with Eve during the beginning of this book. I wanted her to be more compassionate of her best friend’s feelings, and I just didn’t love her approach. 

The star of the book: Shep. He’s the sweetest of all sweethearts, dependable to a fault, and the most intentionally generous of souls. 

“𝘽𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄’𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙.”

I do love the realistic dialogue about pregnancy and motherhood. This is a long quote, but it was my favorite passage of the entire book:

I really did enjoy this book, especially by the last few chapters. The conclusion was uniquely beautiful.

((Note: I used to avoid pregnancy-related books due to personal triggers, but I’ve been recently fine with them (Out On A Limb is one of my favorites). For some reason, this one hit some triggering points again - which may have affected my enjoyment. Classic case of It’s Me, Not You.))

Overall, if you want a sweet romance book that revolves around an unexpected pregnancy, I would recommend this book!
