Waiting for the Flood by Alexis Hall
3.0
*3.5
Waiting for the flood is *short.* I didn’t realize that until I had the book in my hand and it was only about 100 pages. It’s functionally a novella, which isn’t something I usually read.
And honestly the fact that it is one is the reason for the rating. It was somewhere between instalove and not just because it was so small. The characters had growth and backgrounds and depth and I wanted more.
But I’m not sure if it the circumstances could have sustained an entire story.
Either way, this was what it was and I wanted something beyond it.
The second half is technically a part of the same book, but I’m counting them separately.
