Flood Tide by Clive Cussler
3.0
Another interesting read from Clive Cussler, I can't remember what prompted me to pick one up but I've generally always enjoyed these books. They're adrenaline filled with science and history interspersed throughout to add an extra dimension of enjoyment. Not to mention a dachshund generally always features which is a cute nod that makes me think of my Raj.
In this story, our inimitable hero Dirk Pitt invariably forfeits his recuperative holiday when he becomes tangled in an elaborate immigrant smuggling ring whose mastermind is a Chinese billionaire Qin Shang whose connections run through the Washington political circuit, right up to Oval Office. As the plot unfolds, a more nefarious plan is revealed that has no care for potential mass loss of American lives.
The information overload always does overwhelm for a time so push through but this is definitely something that fans of Indiana Jones would enjoy.
