I read the sample and despite my reading tastes decided to give this book a chance. It was a solid read. However, I wish I knew that it was the 5th in a series because I like to read series, even unconnected ones in order. It was a good book but overall not for me and I wouldn't pick up more in the series after this one.

The writing was good and I enjoyed how the characters were written. The action and the time/setting were interesting. I did find parts of it a bit wordy but I liked the writing style so that was not too bad.

I would recommend this to fans of detective or police focused thrillers. I'm not a fan of those but it was a well-written one.
