any tan you’ve done it again. an incredible story of a woman’s journey trying to find happiness in an intensely cruel marriage and difficult life circumstances. god how hard it must have been to try to stay soft and hopeful through her trying times. I thought of my mom and all the horrible things shes been through (that MEN have put her through!!!) and how determined she was to find her peace and her happiness through it all. I wish we got more of pearl and winnie’s relationship after the truth is told, but maybe we don’t need all that. we know that things still aren’t perfect that there’s still a lot of hurt and trauma at play, but now they can see each other more clearly, as women and as mothers. maybe I can do the same with my mom. I am fighting with her rn though and I already apologized so she just needs to stop acting petty and text me back so we can be cool again
