Just when he thought his mind was clear, he couldn't help looking for her, just to make sure she was still there. She was his anchor and his weakness. He needed to concentrate, but he needed to know she was still watching to keep him in check, lest he decide to fall off the edge and give in to his violent urges. But she reminded him why he was here.

i think this was my favorite installment throughout all of the vrisha books this author has. it’s not *that* different to the other books, though. you have the fmc taking care of the mmc till they can escape from whatever hell they’re in. and yk what? I AINT SICK OF IT! this installment focused less on cultural differences and more so on xeda and ophilia’s common goal of getting the fuck outta dodge. overall just an entertaining alien romance novel.
