A Stranger Magic by D.C. Akers

I picked up this book because the blurb sounded really interesting and who can say no to that cover?

The story began with darker, creepier atmospheric events and I loved the tone it set. However, right around the 18-20% mark the main hero--Sam--started bickering with his sister in the story. At the same time at home, my own kids were bickering with one another and whining at me a lot more than usual. Having kids bicker in two worlds is too much for one mama. :P

I stopped at 20% and haven't been able to open the pages again. This is in no way the author's fault and one day I look forward to picking this tale back up again. Right now it's honestly just timing... my kids are even bickering now. Send help.

One day I will try again because I really did enjoy what I read. I'd highly recommend this story to anyone who likes darker tales for the younger generation, any readers in the vein of Spiderwick or The Great and the Small would definitely enjoy this!
