King's Treasure by Marie Johnston
4.0
3.5 Stars
I loved the first book in Oil Kings and thoroughly enjoyed book 2. I wasn't keen on Xander from the blurb or references from the other books, but I knew I was going to want to read about Dawson and Bristol in book 4, so I went in order. As I suspected this one was a little overly angsty for my taste with both characters needing to grow-up into the adults they claimed to be.
Saavy wasn't as annoying--fresh out of college it's fair she's looking to find her feet. At pushing 30, Xander was getting long-in-the-tooth to be Peter Pan.
That said, it was still a fun read and I enjoyed the page devoted to the characters from book 1, Gentry & Kendall.
