City of the Plague God by Sarwat Chadda

5.0

Reading a book about a pandemic while in the midst of a global pandemic was very interesting, to say the least. I really liked this book and I enjoyed learning about the Mesopotamian gods and myths. I would give the overall story 4/5 stars but I rounded up the final rating to a solid 5 stars after listening to the author's note on why this story was important to him. While geared toward a younger audience this book tackles important topics like Islamophobia and the lack of positive Middle-Eastern representation in books and media.
