Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

5.0

This book is definitely on my top reads list of 2021! Wow, this thriller has it all. It examines how one simple act can snowball into a web of lies. It examines what we would do to protect our loved ones. It explores how our surroundings influence our development. It questions morals, and whether someone can be justified in their actions. It also pulls you into endless “did they do it?” questions.

This book will stay with me for a long time. I almost want to grab the audiobook and listen to it, because I honestly just want to experience it.

Flipping from present day to past (both two months before Meredith and Delilah go missing and after they’re missing) is a little trippy at first, but once you get used to who’s who, it all works seamlessly together.

The hype is real and totally justified for this book. If you read only one thriller this year, LOCAL WOMAN MISSING has to be it!
