There are books that you just get. There are books that once you hit a certain page count, are everything you think about, that consume you once and for all. This was such a book for me. The story itself is one about friendship, about love, about finding yourself and about being able to open up to that one person. With that person it just feels right and no matter how hard you try to change the reality or how many times you try to run away, you will always get back to them, and they will look at you, and you will melt in them.
Alex and Molly were such unique and understandable characters with their own backstories that couldn't be more different than they were. Molly on one hand is introverted, a virgin and absolutely in love with Cora. Alex on the other is flirtatious and unable to open up to the girl she has been dating for 5 months. This situation drives the two of them into an arrangement where Alex wants to prove to Natalie, her somewhat gf, that she isn't the total flirt Natalie thinks she is by getting Cora and Molly together with a five-step plan.
She gets the girl is about a ton of stuff that is quite emotional: baggage, family, friends, moving out, being in college, figuring out who you are and what you want and if you can really have that, and it is also about being with the right one and when someone that seemed to be that sometimes just isn't. This story means a lot to me, and it will definitely stick to me for quite some time. So, if you were contemplating if you should read it: do, you will not regret it!
