The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux

3.0

Not to my tastes, unfortunately. While it has all the hallmarks of a novel that I would normally love, I felt as though I was being rushed through a story that should have spent more time on the lead characters and their history rather than giving us dollops of exposition about their personalities and histories. I found myself thinking too often of ways in which I might have restructured the story rather than of the story itself, rather than being immersed into a milieu that I normally adore. My loss, I guess.
