I do NOT understand how the adults were so awful, esp Summer’s mother who knew she was being molested/raped by her stepbrother—and instead of getting her out of that situation, had her daughter deal with it on her own, alone, until an “accidental” fire happened, ending him, and she allowed her daughter—AGAIN to believe she was alone and that the fire was her fault when Surprise! It wasn’t. 
She also never got her any professional help, never comforted her, talked about it until she had to, and even then she wasn’t a mother talking to her daughter, just shrugged and basically said “meh men”…..WTF and then everyone but 1 person is mean in this book to one another. 
I can’t.
Ok book but honestly, bought it for the cover and only finished it cause I have the physical copy and refused to not finish it.

And 1 of the teachers—wth is with all the actual adults?? If they are not vipers in the grass waiting to strike, they are molesters or worse.
This book was alot, esp with the victim blaming and treating molestation/rape as just a meh situation that just happens…..
