I’m reading this series so I can read the Six of Crows series which I’ve heard is a wonderful “found family” book. (One of my favorite type of books to read.) I had a really hard time getting into this book. I found the universe building really hard to grasp. I’m hoping I have an easier time with the 2nd book in the series.  I found the main female character frustrating at times - especially during a pivotal scene where she just has to do one hard thing and everything will turn out well but she doesn’t.

I’m talking about killing the stag. And even if she didn’t do it why didn’t Mal do it?! Doesn’t really make sense.
