Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

The romance was cute and their dialogue lifted this from a one star to a two stars. But the writing was so terrible I had to stop reading.
Contrived characters. Unnecessary soap boxing. A lot of this book felt like getting hit over the head with escapism, rather than slipping into it. Especially irrelevant digs at politicians (ones that I also dislike) that did nothing to propel the story forward or develop the main character beyond his initial pettiness. Ultimately disappointed with this as a whole.
