Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

My very favorite trope ever written has to be found family. Six of Crows is the perfect example of found family! A group of rag tag teenagers who have nothing to lose, a unique set of skills and the opportunity to make more money than they’ve ever dreamed… the only catch? They have to break into the most heavily guarded prison and extract their target without being killed in the process. The heist is reminiscent of an Oceans 11 type operation. So many moving pieces, so many dangerous outcomes… but the reward is worth the risk.

I never expected to fall in love with these characters. But fall in love I did. The writing is phenomenal, and somehow you find yourself in love with these crazy kids. Their stories are simultaneously heartbreaking and yet hopeful. Six of Crows is the first in a duology and one that I would recommend to EVERYONE. Adult and teenagers alike.
