Never underestimate Joyce has been a truism of each Thursday Murder Club book, but never has it been so effectively used in plotting as in this third entry.
The crimes investigated by the club, and their solutions, have become more intricate, but Joyce remains the grounded lovable heart at the centre of these books that makes everything believable, funny and heartwarming.
Another excellent instalment of the best post-retirement investigators in the world. Often copied, never bettered.
