The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

What a fun ride! It definitely gave me the same vibes as Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore in its quirks and unknowns, so if you're a fan of that book, I would 100% recommend this one. I was extremely impressed with how well the story came together in the end, seeing the shift in the relationships between Linus, the kids, and everyone else on the island, and of course, LINUS BAKER GOINNNNN OFFFFFFF!!111!!1!!!
I REALLY enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was going to from the beginning but genuinely saw the book come to life and shift from the grayscale to full color. A gem of a book and I'm so glad I got around to meeting these characters and this world. Deffo understand the hype!
Knocking it half a star just because it took me a little longer to really get into and there were some moments that didn't fully make sense. I would have loved to see a bit more directly from upper management (kind of how the Arc of a Scythe series gave flashbacks in the form of journals) just to produce a bit more context, and I would have loved to see more from the village after the fact. Overall though, SO much fun!
