“you scare the shit out of me. you’re so fucking perfect, i don’t even know where to start. i wasn’t expecting to find a woman i could ride with and fight with and fuck like that. didn’t think i’d ever find a woman who gets why my club is my life.”

this was one of the best motorcycle club romances i've ever read. how did my least favorite brother in the series become my favorite character? there were so many layers to him. if i was in awe of how the author approached psychology and mental health in the previous book, this one cemented my respect for her. psychopathic male leads have become a cliché in dark romance, but more often than not (not to say always) writers don't get it right; they confuse morally corrupt with psychopathy and call any villain mentally ill for the sake of the archetype. this was the first time that aspd was approached respectfully and done justly. not only the character's inner monologue and pov but how others perceived and responded to his callousness and impulsively was everything i've ever wanted.
and his woman? she was the one to kidnap him, not the other way around. not only that, but she mistook his identity. both tropes i love, and having the roles reverse elevated the story and spoke to the level of badassary of this fmc, which is truly unmatched. the first female member of the mc.
