I think the world building in this book is potentially the most unique world building I’ve ever read. It took me a minute to get into the writing of it. I thought that because it was translated from French that it really made the writing style weird? But I really think the style of writing is “less is more” and has a whimsical vibe to it rather than an issue of translation. After I got over this hurdle I really got into the book and embraced the journey it took me on. Bought the second book immediately and I cannot wait to see how this series plays out. I recommend every one to give this book a try but can see how it may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
