This was such a fun read. I loved the characters and the unique storyline. It was a breath of fresh air that the main female character, Aspeth, was not described a tiny and petite woman in her early 20s; but rather a tall and curvy 30 year old woman.
This book has everything: romance, adventure, magic, and characters facing adversity. It takes place in a time when women were heavily discriminated against. Did that stop Aspeth and her friends from trying to join the Royal Artifactual Guild? Of course not. She brought her cat too, obviously.
This was the first Minotaur romance I’ve read, and I was a bit apprehensive before I started reading. However, I’ve read dozens of other books by Ruby Dixon so I knew she would nail it. She didn’t disappoint, and I can happily say this is the best book I’ve read from Ruby Dixon. 5 stars.
