I really enjoyed the audio version read by the author. The essential message is that our understanding of Rome needs to be recalibrated -- and the Romans were a lot like we are now. The art especially interested me, not only a kind of propaganda but also an expression of continuity and power not the actual physical look of the individuals. Fascinating book.
