Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
5.0
I am on a Miss Pergerine's marathon; this series is extremely addictive. Highly recommended!!
Hollow city - the second book in the series - is just as good as the first one. However, when juxtaposed with the first book, I found the first one slightly better. There were many missed opportunities in the story. The character were peculiar which makes them not only different but also very powerful, but they hardly used their peculiarity to their advantage. There were many instances when Emma wanted to use her gift but was told not to by the protaganist - Jacob. It was as if he desprately wanted to experience the adventurous life he had vicariously experienced before from his grandpa's stories. That was my only complain from the book, but I still loved it enough to give it 5 stars.
