I’m usually not into love triangles, but it worked here because Xingyin’s character growth was so strong. After being sheltered most of her life, she faces a ton of challenges, and it’s cool to see her shift from wanting revenge for her mom to figuring out her own purpose.
Her cleverness in freeing the dragons and staying true to her morals stood out, and even though the happy ending wasn’t with the character I wanted, it still felt satisfying. That said, it was kind of unrealistic that every guy she met either wanted to date her or destroy her. Plus, Wenzhi’s betrayal was a bummer, and it was frustrating that the Celestial Emperor and Empress stayed in power.
