There's no historicity that justifies the racism and xenophobia in this book. The colonialism, slavery, animal abuse, and superiority complex changed my opinion on Verne's books.
Also, the plot itself wasn't really engaging, the obstacles were easily crossed, and the science in it was not exciting at all.
The two stars are only there because I love balloons.
