Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
5.0
Despite all the negative reviews, this book is undoubtedly unique in its writing. The metaphors were really refreshing compared to the usual, dull dry ones of 'the weather, juliette's emotions' etc. I admit it took a while to get used to the writing but I was generally surprised and enlightened in mafi's style I writing. Look everyone has their own opinions and their views on a good book but for a debut book, mafi did a superb job. I loved how the book was eneded, promising an upcoming war in the future. Kenji was a refreshing character to read about and while Warner is there as the third wheel in the plot, the book doesn't follow the typical journey of a YA book.
I would definitely recommend it although the superhero thing at the end was a little cliche although that was maybe because I've never read superhero fiction ever.
