The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida by Clarissa Goenawan

5.0

This book was an incredible portrait of the complexities of mental health.

Psychological novels don’t normally pull me in like this one did, but something about Goenawan’s writing is exceptionally enticing, even when handling heavy subjects.

This book veers into magical realism towards its end, and manages to leave you at a comfortable ending point that still leaves you thinking about the deeper implications of the characters’ motivations
