Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice by Elle Cosimano

funny

"'No! No, no, no, no,' I said, covering my eyes. 'There are not supposed to be any more dead guys! No more dead guys! It's only been ten days since the last one! Why does this keep happening?'"

In this latest installment from author Elle Cosimano, Finlay and the gang try their luck in Atlantic City, and, well, it wouldn't really be a Finlay Donovan novel if she and Vero didn't encounter any dead bodies, right? It seems like things just never go smoothly for them.

What an absolute blast! This one had me outright cackling. There are wacky antics, one-liners, and plenty of banter. Plus we get glimpses into the romantic relationships that started in earlier books.

I was fortunate to have early copies of both the ebook and audiobook, and you can't go wrong with either format. I adore the voices Angela Dawe uses in the audiobook—especially the one she has for Nick. Her comedic timing and tone made me laugh-out-loud; she captures the emotions behind each scene; and she has a distinct voice for each character.

I received an advance copy of the ebook from St. Martin’s Press and Minotaur Books and an advance copy of the audiobook from Macmillan Audio, both via NetGalley. All review opinions are my own.
