I enjoyed the first one (with a specific quibble) but I think this one was overall stronger, even if I think it could have been trimmed back just a hair to tighten some things up. Still, I like French's writing style, and I thinks she does a fantastic job of drawing you into her main character's emotional landscape, so I'll be continuing happily with this series.
