I tried really hard to get through this book. The description really brought me into wanting to read it. However, so many things just didn’t add up. I found myself pulled out of the narrative more than a few times thinking that doesn’t make sense? Whether it was because of a description of something or the family history not lining up. I wanted to give the book the benefit of the doubt, but ultimately it felt like a wealthy white family doing wealthy white family things with little to no character growth.
