This story continues with the humans carrying out terrorist attacks against the Others. Mainly they are targeting the crows utilizing their love of the shiny. Things have gotten so bad that the Others are retaliating in a big way. The Others have figured out the source of the drug. The humans that are on their side and Meg helps them find the source by tracing her route of escape from where she was held hostage so the Others can shut it down. There are a lot of new characters that are helping to expand this world and I love it.
Meg and Simons relationship is definitely a slow burn and I love it. If that's not your thing this series is not for you. They are friends for now but you can tell they will be a couple eventually. For now the author is expanding this world and concentrating on the relationship between the humans and the Others both good and bad. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
