This books starts off magnificent. Incredibly told anecdotal stories of different people, all connected only by trees. Then it takes a turn into a totally different style of storytelling, which by the end felt like I was trekking through mud to finish. It was much slower, and less eloquently delivered. Overall still enjoyed the book and I am a sucker for anyone who will write about trees in this way. Kind of wish it were two books though...
