I’m right here, with you, and I’m still holding onto your heart. Please don’t ask me to give it back.”
This book was just soo good! It was so beautiful and romantic to read.

Oliver, this man!! He had my heart from the beginning to the end. He is going to be one of my top fictional boyfriends of all time. And Sydney was just perfect for him. The childhood friends to lover trope has never been done better than this book.
Also the side characters had so much to give. From Gabe to Ms Gibson (the old lady neighbor), I loved everyone. They all were integrated so beautifully.

And the lotus reference was just too cute😍
I fell in love with this book so much than I ever expected to! ❤
A small snippet that I absolutely adore 🥺😍
A pink lotus flower is painted along the bottom of the canvas, fading up into a fairytale scene: a little boy in overalls holding hands with a little girl with sunshine pigtails as they stand atop a grassy hill, watching fireworks light up the sky. Reds, blues, and violets are spattered across the top of the portrait, raining color and beauty down upon the storybook image. And sitting next to the little girl is an orange tabby, while a raccoon rests beside the boy. It’s us. Me, Sydney, Alexis, and Athena. We are watching the fireworks together.
