Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira

4.0

This book has been a million times better then I had expected. It deals with a girl, Laurel and her coping with her sisters death through writing letters to dead people like Kurt Cobain, Judy Garland and Amy Winehouse. The first 10% I thought I would really hate that book, because the writing style was very unique but in the beginning I didn't like it. But when I finally adjusted to the style I was just sitting there, reading with tears in my eyes through the rest of the book. It was a very beautiful language and what I especially liked was how realistic and normal all of these characters seemed to be. It wasn't just about Laurels problems but you can also see that the author had done a good job to include other characters life's into the story and succeeded in it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read contemporary novels about dealing with realistic problems and realizing the beauty and truth of life.
