This book was amazing, even if I didn't feel quite smart enough reading it, lol. The old language Dickens uses is heavy and dense, there was definitely some foreshadowing and dualities that I'm sure I didn't pick up on. I often found myself rereading pages to try to figure out what he was saying. He uses a lot of metaphors and at times, if you miss them, you can miss large plot points. I had to slow myself down and make sure that I was really paying attention to what I was reading. I'm sure in the end, there were still things that I missed, but not enough to make me feel too bad about it. It was a beautiful story, heart-wrenching at times and comically sarcastic at others. It was definitely one of the most difficult books I've read in a long time, but I enjoyed it immensely.
