Tis the Season for Revenge by Morgan Elizabeth
5.0
Oh my gosh this book Morgan did it again and honestly in my opinion 10 times better Damien Martinez this hot gorgeous Hispanic man I fell in love literally maybe 25% in just with him because it’s the way he is so understanding so reassuring so supportive so loving he is the man that every woman wants needs and hopes for in life and I fell in love so fast and honestly I will re-read this book when it comes out and I’m going to buy it like I just I loved it it was so good I was so excited to get the arc honestly I just loved everything about it. I loved that it was holiday themed because I love me some holiday books and this went from Halloween all the way to Christmas and it was just amazing.
So from literally the second or third page I knew that her boyfriend at the beginning of the book was going to be a total asshole, and I was absolutely correct at the time was asking myself why she was still with this man and then I realize what happened so her boyfriend at the time who broke up with her on Halloween, because of what she was wearing, which by the way wasn’t slutty, even if it was slutty, it doesn’t matter, but he broke up with her parked in the fire lane in the car and then kicked her out of his car while she was crying so that he wouldn’t get a ticket I hated him from the moment she sat in his car because he got there and he didn’t even go get her. He texted her and said that he was downstairs a man that she did it for four years and of course he’s a lawyer, but yes, asshole from the beginning, and honestly the way that she broke her down so far that she legit changed everything about her, including her, not wearing her favorite colors, including her, not listening to her favorite bands anymore, and she never realized it until this man broke up with her I truly truly understood and felt so bad.
I will say in the beginning, Cami, I didn’t have a problem with her, but again, not her fault. I was just bothered with her reactions towards like middle to end of the book when abby wanted to ditch the plan, because she seemingly fell in love with this man, but Cami kept on telling her not to do it that men are trash. It doesn’t matter if she loves him or if she liked him it didn’t matter none of it mattered, because regardless of the fact that men are trash, and they’ll always be trash, and it was coming from a place of love, and a place of hurt and Cami’s heart so I understand because of the fact that she went through something that was traumatic for her when she was in college when it came to a man that she never healed from that so it was understandable it just in my point of view of it broke my heart so much because of the fact that her best friend couldn’t see how good of a guy that he actually was in for me that was honestly pretty sad, but in the end it worked out
I love the way that Damien reacts to the betrayal in the end essentially because of the fact that this man I am telling you grown man of course age gap I hate it up he’s 14 years older than her so he’s grown he’s like in his 40s and she is 28. I believe I did the math myself so I don’t know and his reactions everything is honestly so telling in the type of man that he is and also when she finds him outside, she essentially doesn’t realize that he was never going to leave without her he just needed space and time and air to calm down and relax after he learned everything that happened And the way that he always surprises her in the things that he does I think was always really cute because she never had a man like that in her life for her and she never knew what that was and I loved how it showed that he had loved her even before he knew he loved her
By the end of the book I am so fucking proud of Abby. She punched her ex-boyfriend and I was so fucking proud of her. I literally when she did it I screamed. I was so fucking proud of her. She deserves so much more than him. She never deserved this man doing the things that he did to her, and I am happy that she had finally realize that when she saw him again at the Christmas party, and it finally came out that they were exes , and she finally got tired of him, talking down to her and talking to her the way that he was talking to her and she finally stood up for herself on her own. I was so fucking proud. Honestly that’s really all I needed by the end of this book was her to stand up for herself, and she did, and I loved it.
I loved every minute of this book I ate it up so fast I finish it at 3 AM and did not essentially go to sleep last night because I have to go into work at seven so I love that for you but honestly totally worth it. I can’t wait to read her next book. She is an author that I will always read , and I’m so excited to see what she has in store for us next!!!!!
