This is a YA fantasy with a Minecraft inspired world/magic system. It’s a slow burn closed door romance. It is dual POV - switching between our two main characters, Alex and Steve.
Two teenagers are stranded on a magical island. It’s a struggle to survive and explore the new world around them. The more time Alex and Steve spend together, the greater their feelings for each other get and the more they discover. Steve finding Alex may not have been an accident at all. Perhaps they’ve been tied to each other much longer than they realized.
I wish we got some snippets back into the real world. I would’ve loved to see what happened after Steve disappeared.
I found some parts of this to be wordy and drawn out. At over 500 pages, there were definitely sections I thought could be trimmed down.
The ending is a cliff hanger set up perfectly for another book.
