Libro.fm gave me this audiobook as an ALC- thanks!
The reader Kobna Holbrook-Smith was FANTASTIC. Great voice!
The story itself is reminiscent of a Dickens tale- with multiple layers of conspiracy, skulduggery, and units of very poor kids who have banded together when adults fail them. It’s also gruesome in details of filth, death and magic. Incredibly dark but so wonderfully written that I couldn’t stop listening even when I was a little grossed out. Can’t wait for book 2!!!
