Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran

4.0

This book reminded me of P Gregory's Tudors set in GRR Martin's Mereen. The language was light and very easy to read. The tone (though there was treachery and secrets) was still light and the characters for the most part were very frivolous. Questions about treason and the succession are the main dramas of the book and the answers are always changing. Since most of the main characters are wealthy children, this definitely adds to the less serious tone and dialogue throughout. Also, many of the names are so similar that it took a while to keep everyone straight. I definitely recommend this one to people who enjoy HF that is less full of facts and more action and dialogue.
