I really liked this book, but the second half was too fast paced for what felt realistic - even in a weird underworld that isn’t quite real life.

Shang hating Ping for lying about being Mulan, and then immediately being all “Mulan, that lady is trying to trick you please remember me” Nah too much too soon, let Shang sit with his resentment and let his feelings churn and Shishi talk him through it properly. It’s not a five minute thing.
