This story is an awesome example of taboo step-siblings done right! Sam is a teenage girl charged with caring for her 16-year-old brother after circumstances in their home go criminally bad. Conrad is the former stepson of Sam's bio dad, who takes responsibility of Sam and her brother. There's lots of sexually-charged tension between Sam and Conrad, especially when it comes to their run-ins on the underground racing circuit, where Conrad is like a god and Sam is trying to break into the scene. And the push-and-pull of should we/shouldn't we is written well - not too sappy yet not cringey. The only reason I give this story 4 stars is because it was too short for me and felt a tad bit rushed. There are tons of emotional ups and downs (and the ending WILL crush you) that I felt could have been explored more and given more depth. All in all, it's a great read that I'd recommend to anyone.
