The Secret History by Donna Tartt
5.0
The Secret History makes you question why you didn’t spend your University years as part of a group of elite linguists with a penchant for cult-like sacrificial rituals. I am very late in discovering this book but it is worth it. The story follows Richard, a West coast outsider, as he navigates his way into a small group of wealthy and academic students. And of course horror unfolds. I really didn’t want this book to end, it just gave me everything I want and need from a great read. Characters I trusted, who let me down and SHOCKED ME, twists that I didn’t see coming and also a safety in the fact the author had everything under control. Highly recommend.
