This was such a difficult book to rate because I appreciate so much the indigiqueer, two-spirit, LGBTQ+ representation in this book. But most of the short stories had me lost! I learned so much about indigiqueer two-spirit individuals, but I just didn't enjoy the plots of each short story by themselves. The only one that I really loved was the last short story. Everything else felt confusing at times. And part of this could be my inexperience with certain LGBTQ+ pronouns and indigenous language and words.
If you want to read more diverse queer reads, then think about reading this book. Especially if you enjoy science fiction or dystopian-led reads. I read this book with a bookclub at my local bookstore, but unfortunately I couldn't take part due to scheduling. It probably would have helped me to understand the stories had I discussed it with others.
