» PLOT «
After Patroclus is exiled to the court of King Peleus and his son Achilles, they form an unlikely friendship. As they grow into young men skilled in the arts of war and medicine, their bond blossoms into something deeper - despite the displeasure of Achilles's mother,Thetis. But when word comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped, Achilles must go to war in distant Troy and fulfill his destiny. Torn between love and fear for his friend, Patroclus follows, not knowing that the years that follow will test everything they hold dear.
In this entire book, the ending was my least favorite, despite the semi happy ending. If everything at the end had followed Achilles's wishes, it would've been perfect. However, I still give the plot rating 5 stars, simply because I loved the flow and overall story.
» READABILITY «
This was an easy read, but there were some duller parts. I'd say it was medium paced.
» CHARACTERS «
The two main characters are pretty amazing. I already liked Patroclus and Achilles, and this book only emphasized and amplified that. They were both likeable and fun.
» WRITING «
There were some beautiful writing and quotes in this book, but after reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, I'd say that book had better writing.
» OVERALL «
After Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe made me cry, I should've expected it from this book too.
I don't have a lot to say, so just know I really liked this book.
