The Immortals of Meluha by Amish Tripathi
Did not finish book.
BUT WAIT, you say, how come you rate the book 3 stars when you put it on hold??
Well, let me tell you why: I'm confused as all hell.
On the one hand, I kinda liked it. I love the idea of reading about Shiva, the story seems interesting, the writing isn't too bad, the cover is pretty, I kinda want to know what happens at the end...
On the other hand, I'm really effin' confused as to what I'm supposed to think about Shiva (the character). Is he smart? Is he dumb? Is he 15 or what? One moment he's being all cool and the next he's Captain Obvious. One moment he's being all handsome and the next he's a slobbering 15 year old hormonal kid who doesn't know how to talk to women. I get character flaws and the guy being from a tribe that didn't see much "civilization" until reaching Meluha, but he's more jumping to polar opposites than anything. I just... I DON'T EVEN KNOW.
Also, it's getting a bit slow on the story, or maybe I've just grown too confused and bored with it; and I'm feeling nothing except moderate annoyance for Sati (I like that she doesn't seem to be a helpless girl most of the time, at least, which is more than I can say for most female romantic interests).
So, I just... don't know. I haven't felt like going back to reading it though, which isn't a good sign, but I kinda liked it. So it gets a 3 and a on-hold and I'll revise this some other time.
